The Movie Review
Ok, new movies this week out on rental:
50 First Dates :
Ok, not
new but still good. Drew Barrymore plays Lucy. Gorgeous girl with long wavy blonde hair. Adam Sandler plays Henry Roth. Typical
ladies man, only dates women who are on vacation. Henry meets Lucy at a restuarnt that specailizes in serving SPAM. One
thing leads to another, Henry decides he likes Lucy even though she's a local girl.
Soon he realizes
that Lucy can't remember him. SHe lacks the ability to turn short term memories into long term memories....and thus begins
the whole rest ofthe movie. Great movie. Pretty funny. How could you not love these two?
ENVY:
This movie stars Ben Stiller and Jack Black. STAY AWAY FROM THIS
MOVIE!!! Its terrible. No real point, no real plot. Ok, here's an overview....
Ben Stiller plays Tim (least I think its Tim), I cant remember Jack Black's characters
name. Sorry. Anyways, they work at a sandpaper company. One day on the way hoem from work Jack Black gets the idea to invent
a spray can where you spray the contents on doggy do and it disappears. TIm thinks this is the worst idea in the world. Jack
doesn't listen and becomes a gazillionaire. Tim and his family are unbelieveably jealous. Through the rest of the movie it
one fiasco after another.
Christopher Walken is also in this movie. I could not believe
he'd be in this movie. The man is amazing! Yet he wastes his talents in this pile of doggy do of a movie? *SIGH*
The BOOK Review
Books this week:
The Lord of the Flies:
This book was good, awesome, amazing, brilliant, and unbelievebaly disturbing. A group of boys get stranded
on a deserted island. At fist its practically a dream come true. A veritable paradise, no adults, no responsibilty, no chores.. But,
things quickly fall into disarray. They soon realize that something needs to change. They need structure, food, shelters.
These boys are forced to start thinking like adults.
They choose a leader, and the second in command is jealous beyond belief. The choose a group of boys
to be hunters, a group to watch the signal fire, and a group to build the necessary shelters. Suddenly its as if the boys
have lost they're minds. They start to turn on each other.
I think everyone should read this book.
Its awesome, and you can see in it the potential that soceity has to turn on itself...READ IT!!!
